Best Ball 2v2 Match Play (90% handicap allowance)

80 Team Bracket | Single Elimination

Max Playing Handicap: 18 (higher handicaps may join but will be capped)

• Entry fee:  $60 for Members or $75 for Non‑Members (per player).

• Active GHIN required

• Schedule Flexibility Required

• One teammate must be a Mass Latin Club member

• Entry fee includes green fees at Pine Hills Golf Club (a $175 value) for the final round, covering play for the two remaining teams competing for the championship.

The bracket and matchups are emailed out after each round's deadline.

We will connect you via email with your match ups. You and your opponents are responsible for coordinating a time to play. We suggest a quick phone call to select a date & time within the month.

Important Rules:

If one teammate is unavailable for a prolonged period, matches must proceed 2v1 (or 1v1) to avoid forfeiture.

If a scheduling conflict is obvious within 48 hours of receiving your matchup, you may request reassignment.

No reschedules allowed after 48 hours. No exceptions.

Matches must be played at one of the assigned courses for that round.

Each team has approximately one month to schedule and play their match.

Single‑elimination best‑ball match play means every playoff match is win‑or‑go‑home, with the winning team advancing through the bracket until only one team remains.

Yes! If you don’t have a partner, we’ll pair you with another solo player before the tournament begins.

After each round’s deadline, we’ll send you and your opponents your match details via email. You’ll then coordinate directly with them to find a date and time to play within that round’s window. Please note that players are responsible for green fees for the first rounds.

Green fees for the final round will be fully covered for the two remaining teams competing for the championship title.

In this format, each player plays their own ball throughout the round. Handicap strokes are applied based on the difference between players’ handicaps, with the higher-handicap player(s) receiving strokes on the most difficult holes (based on stroke index). Each team’s best net score per hole determines who wins that hole. For example, Player A is 14 handicap and Player B is 10 handicap. Player A gets 4 strokes total during the match — applied to the 4 hardest holes (lowest stroke index holes on the course).

You have 48 hours after receiving your matchup to request a reassignment if scheduling with your current opponent isn’t feasible. If one teammate is unavailable long-term, you can either find a substitute or play with fewer players (2v1 or even 1v1) to avoid forfeiting.

Each match must be played at one of the designated Mass Latin Golf courses for that round. The available course options change monthly and are listed in the schedule above.

If a match isn’t completed by the round’s deadline and you haven’t communicated with Mass Latin Golf team, both teams will be disqualified from advancing.
